Getting Started
Not at all! MyBento is a platform and we are provider agnostic. We can integrate your existing benefits into our platform if the product is not already available on our platform. This includes the facilitation of the administration and enrollment for such benefits and showcasing your existing provider or advisor on the platform - which makes it easier for employees to directly interact with them without having to include HR in every discussion.
MyBento can advise on and suggest a full holistic range of benefits and will help you through the process of setting up the programme on MyBento.

Yes! MyBento can cater for a large variety of employer contribution rules on a granular level (product and employee specific rules) including zero contribution from the employer side.
Subscription fee: MyBento charges a monthly subscription per employee per month which varies based on the plan / features you chose to activate, as well as your team size.
Benefits contributions: How much you contribute towards employee benefits is completely flexible and will depend on your budget. MyBento can cater for a large variety of employer contribution rules including no contribution from the employer.

MyBento is a platform and we connect all ecosystem players. We'd be very happy to bring your existing broker or advice partner onto our platform. It improves the relationship between broker/advisor and your employees. Their profile, contact details and fees are published within MyBento. Your advisor/broker partner gains from more streamlined benefits administration, too (we reduce up to 80% of manual administration for them through the digitisation).
Step 1: After contracts are signed, we ask you to complete our onboarding form that gives us the necessary information on how to configure your employer account and benefits setup.
Step 2: Generate API credentials for your payroll system so we can access the employee data safely. Once connected to the payroll system via secure API connection, employee data is imported and we will complete the setup for you.
Step 3: Launch! We will send out the invite mailers to your team that guides them through their account and password setup.

Platform Features
Global HRIS software offers similar features like leave and employee data management but falls short due to poor South African localisation, lack in local payroll integrations, and US-centric (and often very limited) benefits features leading to clunky workarounds and multiple offline syncing processes. MyBento is an employee experience platform that brings your employee value proposition into a single, fully integrated platform that improves your ROI by increasing employee engagement and improved employee wellbeing.
MyBento is currently being used as the primary HR system for many of our clients due to the built in leave management, employee data management, employee benefit administration and reimbursement management. Depending on your needs for a HR system, MyBento can certainly fulfill a large part of your HR administration needs. Currently MyBento does not offer an integrated recruitment or performance management solution.
Yes, MyBento is a modular system and allows for features to be enabled and disabled as per your configuration needs and benefits set-up.
Yes, MyBento makes standard reports available including leave balance, reimbursement and benefits contribution reports. These reports can be accessed via MyBento for certain user roles. On request, we provide custom reports.
Yes, MyBento controls access to data and features based on user roles and user rights, i.e. team members, team leads, HR or financial teams are given different roles and user access rights.
Yes, MyBento can publish company specific content and policy for your employees to access on MyBento.
MyBento is a web-app and does not require you to download an app on your desktop or mobile device. MyBento is mobile optimised and can be accessed on any device.
Currently MyBento does not offer an integrated recruitment solution.
No - but we do have partners that we can introduce you to that can work alongside MyBento.
Integrations
We are currently integrated with SimplePay, Deel Local Payroll (prev. PaySpace) and Labournet Payroll (prev. Psiber). We are adding new integrations on a continuous basis. If you do not use any of the payroll systems mentioned above, we can enable MyBento in an offline mode which triggers automated reporting to the designated HR or Payroll Administrators(s) at the configured payroll cut-off date so any changes can be uploaded before payroll run.
Yes, you can still implement MyBento and are still going to benefit from all the MyBento features apart from the auto-syncing to the payroll system. For clients who do not use any of the integrated payroll systems we switch the payroll syncing process to an offline modus, which triggers automated reporting to the designated HR or Payroll Administrators(s) at the configured payroll cut-off date so any changes can be captured before payroll run.
MyBento reduces manual work by enabling employees to self-manage benefits, reimbursement claims, and key HR information, without the need for manual data transfer to payroll administrators. Through our two-way integration with the payroll system, updates to medical aid plans, retirement contributions, and approved expense claims are automatically reflected in the employee's draft payslip. The integration also supports self-service updates to personal details (such as banking information, addresses, and emergency contacts), leave applications, and payslip downloads - all from a single, unified platform.
We don't replace your outsourced payroll provider, but rather work with them to automate and digitise some of their existing processes - making their lives easier as well.
Yes, we are currently integrated with Xero. This integration is used to automatically log ad-hoc expense claims as draft bills in Xero.
No, MyBento is not a payroll system. MyBento is the user interface that brings your employee experience and benefits offering to life for your team. We integrate with your payroll system to sync any payslip impacting changes to payroll.
Many of our existing customers are using MyBento because it pulls together more features and capabilities than what the payroll system alone can offer, including a better, more unified employee experience than having to deal with multiple systems to do different things.
